Introducing Oja.Market

A marketplace built by the same team, native to OjaSuite — list your catalogue for free, reach buyers you've never met, and get paid with a buyer-protection hold on every sale.

Earlier this month we shipped Marketplace Integrations, so a listing on Jiji, Tonaton, or Bisame could push orders straight into OjaSuite instead of living in a separate notebook. That solved a real problem — but it also left an obvious question sitting right behind it: what if the marketplace itself was ours, built to work with OjaSuite from the ground up rather than connected to it after the fact?

That's Oja.Market.

What it is

Oja means "market" — the oldest word for commerce in West Africa. Oja.Market is a free, standalone marketplace where any business can open a shop in minutes — whether or not they've ever used OjaSuite before. For businesses that already run on OjaSuite, it goes further: connect your account once, and your existing catalogue becomes marketplace listings automatically, no re-entering products, no double bookkeeping.

Free to list, no exceptions

Opening a shop costs nothing — no monthly fee, no listing fee. Oja.Market takes a small 1.5% commission only when something actually sells, plus the standard payment-processing fee, both deducted automatically from the payment before it reaches your bank account. If nothing sells, you owe nothing.

Payment is held until your buyer confirms delivery

This is the part we think matters most. In a market where the fear of paying and getting nothing back is the single biggest thing standing between a browser and a buyer, Oja.Market holds every payment securely until the buyer confirms delivery — or until 7 days pass with no dispute raised, whichever comes first. Either way, our team reviews and releases it to the seller; that 7-day mark is a maximum wait, not something a seller is held to by default. Either side can raise a dispute before that window closes, and our team steps in to help sort it out.

The seller's own bank account still receives the money directly, the same way it always would — Oja.Market simply controls when that happens, not who's holding it in between.

For OjaSuite sellers specifically

None of this replaces Marketplace Integrations — connecting a Jiji, Tonaton, or Bisame listing still works exactly as it did. Oja.Market is simply the marketplace we'd point a business toward first, because we built the whole thing to fit OjaSuite from day one instead of bolting on afterward.
